Put the extraordinary into the pace of the ordinary. I wanted to pull space out of the hero narrative and seat it in a gondola anyone could ride—slow, quiet, a little awkward and sweet. When distance is stretched to the limit, connection relies on the most everyday things: a drink in hand, a shared glance, the silence of sitting side-by-side. This piece is about cross-species courtesy, the brief companionship of strangers, and shrinking the universe to a speed where listening is possible.
